This is a political thriller, treading a treacherous path along the border between the real and the imagined world. It paints an intricate picture of the early ’80s that now appear so close in time but so far in history and condemned to be forgotten in the future. Janos Elbert a well-known literature professor and translator director of Institute of Theatre History, the editor of Soviet Literature and lecturer of Hungarian Film Academy unexpectedly died in the spring of 1983. The cause and the circumstance of his death are still unknown. Authorities closed the investigation by providing a ridiculous explanation. Elbert’s death said to be linked to Hungarian Intelligence. No further information emerged after the change of Regime neither to confirm, nor to expel this assumption. |
